Leave Requests

How to submit and manage leave requests in Plantime.

Submitting a leave request (workers)

Go to Dashboard → Leave and click Request leave. Fill in:

  • Type — e.g. annual leave, sick leave, or other types your organisation uses
  • Dates — the start and end date of the absence
  • Note (optional) — any context for your manager

Submit the request. Your manager will be notified and can approve or decline it.

You can see the status of all your requests — pending, approved, or declined — in the same leave section.

Managing leave requests (managers)

Pending leave requests appear in the planner and in the team leave section under Team → Leave. For each request you can:

  • Approve — the leave is confirmed; the person's shifts during that period are flagged
  • Decline — the request is rejected; the worker is notified

Approved leave is visible in the schedule so you know to plan around the absence when building the next period.

Leave and scheduling

When a person has approved leave during a scheduling period, they won't appear as available in Auto-assign for those days. If a shift is already assigned to someone on leave, a conflict indicator will appear.

Always check for approved leave before running auto-assign or publishing the schedule.

Leave types

Leave types are configured in Settings. Common types include annual leave, sick leave, and public holidays. Contact your administrator if you need a new type added.
